26th June declared as SHREYA GHOSHAL DAY in OHIO

American state Ohio has honored bollywood playback singer SHREYA GHOSHAL for her contribution to the music industry by declaring June 26th as "SHREYA GHOSHAL DAY".

An ecstatic SHREYA wrote on microblogging site twitter : "26th june is declared SHREYA GHOSHAL DAY in Ohio. The first lady of the state presented me this honour while i was performing yesterday".

"I't's an honour which has bees given to personalities , artists and literates since many years. I was infirmed that Rabindranath Tagore , Swami Vivekananda were the recipients that time. I was too overwhelmed at this thought. My name went into same archives. Unimaginable" she added.

Really SHREYA DI we are very very very proud of you, this is one of the biggest achievements you hav got. CONGRATS ! you rock. Soon the whole world will celebrate SHREYA GHOSHAL DAY on 26 th June. AND THE FLAG ABOVE IS THE OHIO STATE FLAG!

Mr Singh Mrs Mehta - 1 duet, 1 solo :)

Again we can see our melody queen getting back to hindi music industry.This time worked in a film "Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta" and produced a solo and duet with "UDIT NARAYAN SIR". The song is composed by Ustad Shujaat husain Khan. I will review both the tracks now.

So, first lets discuss about "BARHAAN DIL" which is a solo. This track sounds very cute with SHREYA DI's voice. It starts with old kind of music which is little slow. SHREYA DI starts singing on 30th sec with "Barhaan Dil" and continues further. The whole track is based on old type of music, awesome. The song moves on with a constant pace,slowly and smoothly, dheeme dheeme:). Very much pleasing. It brings out all the emotions. We get relief after listening this song. I feel SHREYA DI got the sweetest voice, she is the biggest and brightest star of music industry. She pronounced "Barhaan Dil" very sweetly in this track. Once again she rocked and made all of us feel proud. Hats off again. Track lenght --> 5 min 9 sec.

Lets move on to the next track which is "BEHOSI NASHA KHOOSBU" , this is a duet sung by Udit sir and SHREYA DI. The song starts with a slight music and then continues with Udit ji's voice on 55th sec. This is also very slow track. Our melody queen starts singing on 1.18th min with "uljhi uljhi". Very soft start with feel. Many different instruments have been used. It has got a romantic theme. We can find something very touchy, if you hear it once , you never going to forget, its soo good. The song expresses all what we need in a romantic song with ease. Awesome singing and composition. On 4.25th min a music piece is played on flute and then again the song continues. This part is mostly sung by SHREYA DI. The lyrics get repeated many times and by this the track streatches to 8 min and 19 sec, slightly long. Its very good yaar, you can enjoy for a long time. Again one more bangla track "pagol mon re" composed by Prabuddha. This is sung by SHREYA DI and Shaan and other one is a solo by our MELODY QUEEN only. So moving on....

The song started with good music with the effects of " CHUTKI ", Shaan sir starts singing on the 23rd sec, very slow n light, the effects also continued further with the lyrics. At some areas the voice of the male singer wasn't much clear. Our MELODY QUEEN starts singing on 1.30th min, soft start as usual. I guess the whole track was on lower octave, touched high rarely. Very slow and cute song to hear. Little pleasing, not much. I would appreciate SHREYA DI's singing, she was superb as usual. I feel this song is lacking something, a bit weak composition, but was little good. Singing was awesome, but there is some problem in direction. The music didn't support the lyrics much as i felt, and its also a very short running track of only 3.11 mins. This was the duet, lets move on over the solo.

The solo is sung by our SHREYA DI. The music starts and on 22nd sec, its also the same but has lil different music. But this version is quite good, as it has got SHREYA DI's voice. This tracks are some what different, something new. But still rocked .This track continued for 2.55 mins, very short time.

Hangover - HARIYE JAYE

Hey our MELODY QUEEN returned back to Bangla. Now we can get some new tracks of SHREYA DI. In this SHREYA DI sang with Babul Supriyo for the movie "HANGOVER". This track is tuned by Bappa Lahiri. So moving ahead for the review.

The track starts with a slow tune with becomes a bit fast after some seconds. When the music starts i felt it as something old but we get the new music feel later. The music continues for 42sec and on 43rd sec male singer starts singing and SHREYA DI got her chance with few secs i.e on 45th sec.We can find something new in this composition. The music moves on very fast and the lyrics is following that. This track is named as "HARIYE JAYE" . Both the singers did a great job, loved SHREYA DI's singing the most. In this both singers got equal chances. Each and every words of the lyrics were clear to hear. Superb composition. The tracks ends on 4.38th min. I loved the question answer session of both the singers up to 1 min, it was amazing. This songs reflects happiness.

Loved this track soo much, it can get u all the energy lost. Its a powerful song, sung with power, good throw and feel. HOPE YOU WILL ALSO ENJOY.And sorry for posting this late, I reviewed this only by listening its twice or thrice, so if you find any mistake or anything lacking then please forgive me for that!

SHREYA GHOSHAL will tour US again !

SHREYA GHOSHAL seems to hav a huge fan following in the US. Balaji entertainment had organised 10 shows of the Pakistani singer Atif Aslam and the Indian singer SHREYA GHOSHAL, a few days earlier. The show was a huge success , especially SHREYA who got a mass acceptance , which inspired the organizers to conduct shows again in six cities of CANADA and USA.

This time, two other bollywood singers KK and Richa Sharma will accompany the melodious SHREYA. The first show will be organised at Chicago on 18th june, where KK will perform with Richa sharma. The show will continue till 3rd July.

On 19th june, the next show will be held in Seattle. SHREYA will captivate the audience of Vancouver on the 20th of june. The singers trio will perform in Washington on 25th June, followed by a performance in Columbus in 26th june and in North Alberta on 27th June.

Sharing her experience of the last show, SHREYA GHOSHAL said " The last shows in USA and Canada were very exciting as i received lots of love and applause from the audience. This has inspired me to entertain them again with the hope of getting the same kind of response. I am happy that KK is performing with me this time."

KK added, "Earlier, i had performed in many shows across USA. The best thing about these shows are that the foreign audience also enjoy the tracks along with the NRIs although they dont understand the language."

Richa Sharma well known for sufi numbers said, "The listeners abroad, get connected to the songs and get emotional while i perform there. So, i always love to perform overseas."

The Ghoshal's are idiots as they let there daughter follow her heart--- claimed a loving daughter SHREYA GHOSHAL about her family. Bollywood's singing sensation and the only playback singer to have managed four national awards by the age of 26, SHREYA shared her views about reality show her hobbies and much more.

How would you identify yourself in Bollywood ?

My voice and singing are my identity. I do not try too much to keep myself fit but i do all that requires me to keep the quality of my voice intact. One needs to do reyaaz(practice) as every art can be perfected through practice only.

Besides singing what else do you love to do?

I love cooking and make myself busy in kitchen whenever i get an opportunity. Moreover, i dig fictions. Moreover i love to plan vacations and go tracking with my friends, which unfortunately never happen. (laughs)

What are your aspirations?

I look out for non-filmy songs. However its not that easy as there is not much market for such albums in India unlike in western countries. Still i aspire to do so.

What has been your family's role?

I congratulate Raju Hirani for making three idiots as it most relevant in every family. The Ghoshal's are also "idiots"! In our colony when everyone aspired to be a doctor or engineer and many people said deteriorating things when i decided to go for a career in singing and did not take up science, my parents never let my moral support go down at any point of time.They let there daughter follow her heart.

And your take on reality shows..

Reality shows are popular as people have there say in deciding the results. However, it does not guarantee that the best will win. There are many factors like personality that determine the end results. Moreover, everything in reality show is not scripted, especially the judges comments.

How do you view the Amdavadi audience ?

I have visited Ahmadabad many times. Here audience understand music - they enjoy not only dhamal but also soulful songs. The city has produced many a talented singers like Ashwariya Majmudar. I enjoy singing as one can afford to sing songs that are beautifully composed though they may not be very popular.

A. There are many. But the most i use is David off.

Q. Your favourite car?

A. I still dont won it but i would like to own a KAYAN . In reality i don't have much passion for cars.

Q. Your favourite eating joint?

A. I rarely eat outside. I have very favourite joint in Vashi,ahich is called Chelab. Chotu Singh owns it,its not only the food which is very good but thr ambience is also very musical.

Q. Your favourite recipe?

A. Being a Bengali, i like bengali cuisines. I love to eat home cooked food as i have enough of outside food because of the travelling. I always look forward to come home and eat my favourite Fish curry and Rice. My mom cooks it for me. I am not a good cook at all.

Q. Your fitness regime?

A. The time factor does not allow me to carry on any fitness regime. I used to do yoga in the past.Infact i should take out time for that.

Q. Your favourite holiday destination?

A. Again, its not much holidays that i have. But yes, i had a very good three-four days vacation in Mauritius recently(2008).

Hey our melody queen got a nomination in STAR PARIVAAR AWARDS 2010 for favourite judge. As you all know that our melody queen judged one reality show --> "Amul Music ka mahamuqqabla" with some other judges. She reached up to semi finals and unfortunately failed to reach FINALS. But according to me she was the best judge there among all.

I wish her BEST OF LUCK . I hope and pray that she win it.

Again SHREYA DI worked with HIMESH RESHMMIYA in the movie "milenge milenge" for the track ---> "MILENGE MILENGE". It is composed by Himesh sir . This the sung by our melody queen "SHREYA GHOSHAL" and Himesh sir. And the lyrics is again by --> SAMEER. Lets move on, hope you like the review! :)

This is the second song of the movie.This song was sung by Alka yagnik and Jayesh Gandhi while its another version(repeat version) is sung by our melody queen and Himesh sir. This song starts with music number on piano and sum other instruments followed by a fast sargam, this continues up to 42 sec. On the 43rd sec tune for "milenge milenge" plays on guitar. Its quite similar with the tunes used in horror shows, ha ha ha :D, but its nicely used here. On 1.03 min we can here some "english saying" , which is included in the music but not in the main lyrics. On 1.20th min Himesh sir starts with "milenge milenge", this time Himesh sir sounds little different. This time he was little soft. On 1.50th sec our melody queen starts with " aap ki kasis ka kya kehena" , which was a bit fast in pace with the same beats. The music piece from 2.19 th sec to 2.50th sec was extraordinarily awesome. This is a awesome track , which continues up to 5 min and 26 sec. And i loved the line "aap se yakinan milenge milenge" in SHREYA DI's voice.

I loved this track soo much, we can see Himesh sir in a new avtar. He comes with new style of singing and as usual SHREYA DI was super,awesome and mind blowing. This time i love sir's composition as well as singing.He was totally with SHREYA DI in case of singing. Now in this track both the singers got equal chances to sing, which we rarely find in his compositions. Overall i rate this song 10 on 10. Was superb, hats off to SHREYA DI as she used her talent in full. I wish all the very best ans hope that SHREYA DI grabs some more awards for her singing.

SHREYA GHOSHAL'S lilting voice enthralls Amdavadis

SHREYA GHOSHAL, bollywood's most sizzling singing sensation enthralled Amdavadis on sunday's cool evening with her mesmerizing numbers. GHOSHAL won the best female playback singer award for " teri ore " in " sing is king " at IIFA awards.

Pretty faced SHREYA's soft lilting voice wooed the audience with her wooed the audience with her rendition of numbers like "bairi piya" from devdas that managed to conjure up images of a nubile but willful young woman in an age where forceful voices are making merry. Her "jadoo hai nasha hai" was achingly sensual that made Amdavadis go delirious at live musical concert organised by RAJPATH CLUB and partnered with DNA.

The event was not only just a treat to the music lovers of the city, but we also help the backward class people.

"twenty-five percent of the profit from this show will be donated to the financially backward people" said Brijraj Gadhvi,director of BG events, organisers of the event.

GHOSHAL invited the audience to join her on journey of music with " chalo tumko lekar chale " . Although strong breeze made the singer uncomfortable, the singer in her made audience stay steadfast in there seats for nearly one and half hour of absolute magic.

Review of some old SOUTH INDIAN tracks

This time i am going to review some south indian songs , sung by my our melody queen SHREYA GHOSHAL. Reviewing all these on request of " SUPREET SHETTY " , you all fans can follow him at " @isupreet " . He is a big die hard fan of SHREYA DI. As per him , you all fans should listen to all type of music , specially regional. People dont listen regional songs as they dont get the lyrics or face some other problem. I want to tell you all that do not let the language to become a barrier within your love for music. So reviewing 4 songs today, should continue....

1st track to be reviewed is a " Yaavudu Enadu " from the movie " Cheluvina Chilipili " released on the year 2009. This track is directed by " Mickey J Meyer " . After a small music piece on synth our SHREYA DI starts the song with " Yaavudu Enadu " on the 23rd sec, its again a soft start. Again, its very soft, pure , mind blowing song sung totally with feel. Excellent pronunciation by our melody queen, its a kanada track. In between some lyrics as " sa re sa re " came , which was a bit fast than normal track, sounds excellent. We can feel the song up to 5 min and 4 sec. Superb composition. This track was not noticed much, so i hope you all will play it even once.

2nd track to be reviewed is " kudinotave " from the movie " Parichay shreegandha " , this is also a solo track. This track starts with a modern type of music with some beats. On the 32nd sec our melody queen starts singing with " kudinotave ". The beats continues with the song further. This is also a soft track , pleasing. Beats increase from 1.12th min to 1.20 min , again beats slow down , this was an awesome music piece. Between we can catch the voice of some male singer humming " aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ". The beats become very fast at the end with slow singing , it really sounds beautiful. We can enjoy this song a lot, hope u also enjoy it by sparing atleast 4 min and 31 sec. It is truly a tympanic delight that brings out some ROMANCHAKA feelings if love is in your card. I reviewed the solo by our melody queen, the duet of this song is sung by " SHREYA GHOSHAL and SHAAN " .

Moving on to the next track which is a solo again. Its is sung SHREYA DI. Its named as " Ninagagi na haduve " from the movie " geleya ". I dont think that this track is different frm the first two. As this is also the same soft track. SHREYA DI sounds awesome in this, very clear .The song starts and continues with the same speed up to the end. Track length --> 5 min and 18 sec. I guess this track is sung with full emotions. Hope you will play this track too.

4th track to be reviewed is " Hovina banadante " from " birugali ". This track is little different from other tracks which i reviewed. It starts with extremely beautiful humming by our melody queen. sung very beautifully and composed by Arjun. This is a solo which runs for 4 min and 49 sec. Very enjoyable, i loved this song much than the 3 before. In this track she used some awesome variations of her voice while throw. She has voice which directly touch our hearts, in this she sounds lil silky, wah , really nice! Listen these song, you cant control waving you head, its so nice.

All these tracks are superb, hope u play them all. I tried my best in reviewing. I am anyway not related to music, just love it and love SHREYA DI, so doing all these. Hope you all like it. Hope to do some more reviews of her songs in near future.

A new movie KUSHTI's music released. There a 5 songs in total and SHREYA DI got a chance to sing in one of them with her duet partner ---> "Srineevas". All the tracks are directed by various composers --> Srineevas, Tausif Akhtar, AD boys and Hriju Roy. "DANGAL" is directed by Tausif Akhtar. Lyricist - Sameer. Sameer is an upcoming lyricist, he has the capability for competing our India's top lyricist "Javed Akthar sir" and "Gulzar sir". He worked recently in 3 films including "Kushti" , with SHREYA GHOSHAL and gave superb lyrics. Now we must discuss about the track.

The track starts with the word "dangal" with a music piece of 5 sec before it. The word "dangal" was rendered up to 51 sec, both the male and female singer were rendering this word together. On the 52th sec the male singer started singing. Our melody queen starts singing on 1.45th min. She starts with "haan sochti rahun mai" with her heart touching voice, again soo soft ! ahh! In this male and female singer, both got equal chances to sing, awesome composition. This track is very enjoyable. The Mukhada and antra are shared by both the singers. This duet is based on the story of a wrestler, his undergoing training , his love and at the end FIGHT.It has also got a slight mix of comedy and emotions. . It gives a kind of encouragement for any work.In this movie its encouraging the warrior for a fight.The track ends with the same how it started , with "dangal" within 4 min and 58 sec.

Hats off to the composer, singers and lyricist. Special THANX to SHREYA DI for giving us such a gift as a song. Hope you all will enjoy this track.

Hey , again SHREYA DI comes back with a new track for the movie "Krantiveer-the revolution".The track is named as "Khuda mere khuda" , it is a duet sung by our melody queen SHREYA GHOSHAL and KK. We again going to listen awesome singing by such awesome singers, we have lots of hopes that we gonna get awesome composition too by these two young composers. This song also starts slow with a beautiful humming by SHREYA DI continuing up to 18 sec.With a beautiful pleasing melody too. Then the song got a soft start by our melody queen on the 37th sec. Superb singing , again with feel and was very smooth. On 1.04th min the male singer "KK" starts singing . This is a mushy romantic outing.I loved the harmony part. SHREYA DI also sang in between , for few seconds with her soft voice with some change, if you hear the song you can get what i mean to say. Overall, i feel its an marvelous composition. SHREYA DI sang nearly all the soft parts of the lyrics,though male singer got more chances to sing. This composition is slightly different,many effects also been used.Hats off to the singers and composers. All did a great job .
