Thakita Thakita - ISHQ HAI YEH

Sorry friends for posting this late , i also broke the sequence of releases . This song released some days before and i am posting this after two new releases . I am very sorry for that.

This is a TELUGU track , its a duet by SHREYA GHOSHAL and Prasanna from the film "Thakita Thakita". The music is composed by Bobo sasi .

The song starts with a harmony sung by SHREYA DI, really very nice to hear , which continued up to 25th sec. On 44th sec the male singer started singing. He was singing slow with slow music, mild music. Soon on 57thsec SHREYA DI started singing , she sung the same lines of the male singer with same background music. She was sounding superbly awesome. The lines of the lyrics "isqh hai yeh" was sung by some supporting singers. On 1.43rd min you can hear a music piece with tabla and other traditional instrument . After 2 mins the song moved a bit fast , the singing style changed a bit. I loved the composition and love the music pieces by the music instruments used . From 4.03rd min to 4.16th min , both the singers were singing together .The male singer beautifully ended the track.

Overall i loved the singing and happy with the composition, just love the individual music instruments used for playing the music pieces in between . But i think the composition could have been more better, as i feel. Special thanks to SHREYA DI for making the song hear more beautiful .

Autograph - 2 songs !!

Hey guys , here are two new BANGLA songs for you by our melody queen. This time again we got superb bengali songs from the movie "Autograph" . Both are solos by SHREYA DI. Music is composed by Debojyoti Mishra .

The first song is "Chal Rastaye" , beautifully sung by SHREYA GHOSHAL. It starts with mild , soft music. On 8th sec our melody queen started singing and continued singing without backgroung music up to 14sec. On the 15th sec slight music started playing , music was very mild but the voice was loud , clear and soft. Upto 1.03 mins the voice was loud with soft and slow music playing in background. From 1.23rd min the song moved a lil fast. After sometime it again slowed down. Superb composition. awesome lyrics, the lyricist used rhyming words, used some English words too. I think its a love song. It is basically a slow track. hats off to SHREYA DI for singing so well. The part she sung without music was really melodious , few gifted singers can do that and i am proud to say that our SHREYA DI is one of them. I loved this song.

Track length - 4 min 18 sec

The next song is "uthche jege sokal gulo" , its a solo again. The song starts with melodious whistles with music. On 21st sec she started singing with very very lil and mild music, music was absent i guess. This is also a slow track , some what same as the previous one. On 44th sec the music suddenly became loud and rocked with her voice. The track was running a bit fast .Its not same as the previous track, its really rocking song with really good music :) Song is running in a great pace now after 1 min of duration. I guess she was singing in high pitch too.The song ended with whistles and SHREYA DI's voice. I really loved the last part i.e antra , love only the singing.

Track length - 3 min 36 sec

Jackie - ERADU JADEYANNU

Again a new kannada song released , i am posting it a bit late and i am very sorry for that. I am not that much regular in posting the new releases now than before, i am not at my home from 1 month, got admission too . So i guess my regularity will decline more :( . But i will try my level best in updating this blog which is dedicated to my SHREYA DI :)

Coming back to the song, its a duet by SHREYA DI and Sonu Nigam from a kannada movie "jackie" . The music is directed by V.Harikrishna.

The start music was good, usual and normal start. On 15th sec the male singer started singing, it was just like old music with old tone, but was a soft and mild start. The male singer tried to catch high notes too , after a slow start it reached a bit high. haha on 55th sec our melodious queen started singing and i closed my eyes to feel its beauty, superb singing as usual. SHREYA DI also started slow and beautifully contined. This track is basically a slow track , pleasing. If we feel the song we get internal happiness :) I loved the song much, specially SHREYA DI's singing ! I am lil disappointed with the composition :) You all know , i dont have much knowledge on music, but what i feel i write.

Track length - 4 min 46 sec

Pancharangi - 2 kannada songs

Again back to kannada songs. This time SHREYA DI got 2 songs to sing in the movie "Pancharangi ". One is duet and another one is solo. First one is a duet with "Chethan Sosca" , titled as "Hudugaru Beku" and the other one is a superb solo by our melody queen, song is "Ninnaya Nalumeya" . The music is directed by "Mano Murthy". so lets move ahead.

The first song is "Hudugaru Beku" , its a duet by SHREYA GHOSHAL and "Chethan Sosca" . Its a superb song, awesome composition, awesome pronunciation . The start was superb, modern, rocking , guess flute was used somewhere while the start. The music was rocking and our melody queen started singing first on 24th sec with "Hudugaru Beku", was really sweet to listen. It was a rocking song, fast in pace. Its a bit funny too. You can hear "now ready now ready" by the male singer in between which is just funny. Its something different from other compositions, effects has also been added to the voice, not everywhere. On 2.27th sec you can hear one more funniest tune "sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa now ready now ready" :D Very few English words has also been used. wow flawless singing by SHREYA DI. Maximum the song is sung by SHREYA DI, almost 75%. I really want this to happen always :)

Track length - 4 min 44 sec

The next song is "Ninnaya Nalumeya" , its a most beautiful solo by our melody queen. I really loved this song the most . Its a very well composed track with awesome singing. A complete song to enjoy the most. It starts with slow , touching music , loved this music piece. On 30th sec SHREYA DI started singing , ahh so sooooo sooooooo soo sooooo sweet singing, hats off :) This cant be considered a slow track, somewhere it was slow and somewhere fast, extreme composition and singing. Really appreciable, i am unable to say more, i am not that much technically sound , have less knowledge on music.

Track length - 4 min 55 sec

Overall these two songs rock, most beautifully compositions and as usual most beautiful singing. I really hope that these songs will surely get awards . I wish SHREYA DI all the best !

Shreya enraptures Auckland

If her honeyed, silken voice mesmerised the choc-a-bloc audience leaving it asking for more at the end of her four-hour power-packed performance, it was Shreya Ghoshal’s endearingly straight-from-the-heart, down-to-earth manner of connecting with her fans that had her walk right into their hearts on Friday night.

The seven times national award winner and Bollywood’s most sought after female voice gave Kiwi Indians the kind of performance that will undoubtedly be remembered for a long time to come.

She established a connection with the audience from the word go with her candid natter that included generous praise for New Zealand, Kiwis and of course Kiwi Indians and carried her fans all along with her no-nonsense, girl-next-door demeanour to the very end; cajoling, coaxing and prodding them to sing with her - which they did with great enthusiasm.

She reeled off her repertoire with great energy and vigour accompanied by a talented set of musicians from India and the award winning, refreshingly youthful voice of Shivprasad Mallya. From the alluring “Teri Ore”, through the pining “Tujh mein rab dikhta hai”, the heady “Jaadu hai nashaa hai” to the peppy “Bahaara” and the foot-tapping number from “Jab we met” (of which she gave an encore), Shreya enveloped the audience in the range of moods her songs portrayed.

Post-interval, Shreya continued with such favourites as “Pal har pal”, “Barso re megha”, “Zoobi doobi”, “Hum to aise hain bhaiyya” and many more. She sang a personal favourite from the 1970s film Aandhi “tere bina zindagi se koi” and later took on requests pleasing almost every section of the audience with songs in her native Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi and Punjabi. The immortal Marathi song “Reshamachya dhagyani” had the audience in raptures to the beat of talented percussionist Uday Parab’s dholak.

Shreya kept the audience on its toes with rapid-fire medleys, though many must have hoped she had sung each of the numbers fully. She rounded off the spectacular night with her legendary “Dola re” from Devdas, her debut song that catapulted her on to the major league bringing her the first of a string of accolades at the very beginning of her singing career.

Nitin Bhandarkar’s fine stand up comedy performance provided excellent relief before the break. His impersonation of yesteryear stars like Amol Palekar, Dev Anand and Manoj Kumar were perfect while Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar and Kishore Kumar had the audience in absolute splits.

The ABC Entertainment and Harmony Productions organised event presented by Indian Weekender and Uttam Fresh & Clean was managed brilliantly by Cultural Forum of India’s Ram Iyer. Unlike a recent concert that was ridden by unruly scenes at the start of the concert because of faulty ticketing that needed police intervention, Shreya’s concert went off like a dream, with the audience lapping up every moment of her magical performance.

Small wonder that the audience wanted more of it with many voicing their wish that Shreya return soon for an encore.

Eno onthara - INTH NANNA PREETHIYA

So i am here to post my reviews on SHREYA DI's new kannada song "inthi nanna" from the movie "Eno onthara". This is a duet by SHREYA GHOSHAL and Sonu Nigam. The music is directed by V.Harikrishna. So lets proceed .

The song starts with really good music which continues upto 35sec and then on the 36th sec Sonu sir started singing. On 47th sec our melody queen started with "Tumba tumba aathmiya" with her heart touching voice , her voice really touches my heart every time i listen her songs. Its a very beautiful and unique voice she has got. The sound was very clear , hats off to the composer and singers. The music instruments used were really good, and specially "Sehnai" was used from 1.40th min. It was just superb. Generally, this "Sehnai" is rarely used in compositions , it has been used here which really increased the track's beauty. It has been used for few seconds . In maximum parts the music playing in the background was same. The feel was also great . Overall its really appreciable . And i really love duets by SHREYA DI and sonu sir :)

Shreya Ghoshal returns to Singapore to kick-start her latest concert tour

She's touted to be one of Bollywood's most awarded playback singers in recent times.

And now, Shreya Ghoshal is back in Singapore to kick-start her latest concert tour.

The singer shot to fame in her teenage years, after being talent spotted to be playback singer for Bollywood star, Aishwarya Rai in the blockbuster hit - Devdas.

The song from the film launched her career as she received both the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer and the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.

"I was actually a student at that time doing exams, so I was like taking my books and everything and in the studios. And I was a part of the whole process throughout, so I would sit in a corner, and do my studies, whenever I was called, I would be rehearsing, it was such fun," Shreya recalled.

Since then, the 26-year old has worked in more than 140 films.

Besides Hindi, she also sings in Malayalam and Tamil - just to name a few.

And Shreya admits it can be quite tough at times.

"Let me give you all a secret, I sometimes forget my own lyrics, even on the stage I blank out, and I just make out my own lyrics and nobody knows. Very confidently I make up for all the goof-ups I make," she revealed.

Many regard her as the next Lata Mangeshkar - a famous playback singer.

Though Shreya has been touted as a rising youth icon in India, it wasn't easy for her to step into the limelight.

"I was a little apprehensive of coming into performances. I don't think even when Devdas was even released, even after that I was convinced by so many people but I could not just say yes, because I was not too confident about that.

"I thought that I had to have a little more repertoire of songs, to come on stage and perform so I gave almost one year of thought and convincing myself that now I should give my first performance.

"For acting stints, I have been approached, but I am totally scared of it, and I can't act, I know that for sure," she said.

INDIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM in a new form !!

Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Niigaam, Kailash Kher, Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan have sung the anthem. Composed by Salim-Sulaiman, the song has been given a western sensibility with the sound of the guitar, piano and other musical instruments.

However, lyrics and duration of the anthem remain the same, as per the rules laid down by the constitution. The song will be released on the channel on Independence Day, August 15. Aditya Swamy, senior vice president, sales and marketing, MTV India, says, "It's the children of liberalisation who are taking India ahead. Those who are seeing great economic growth, are upbeat about the environment and proud to be Indian."

The video will be a compilation of clips uploaded on the MTV website by about 890 participants. "We had requested people to send us their version of India and what they love about it. So, it's about the visuals. It's not a remake, but today's version of the National Anthem. The video shows what young India stands for and the nation's positive spirit," explains Swamy.

The other version of the song, created by MTV, features the recording interspersed with visuals of what makes India proud. Swamy informs that there are no plans to release an album right now. But promotional extensions will include ring tones, viral campaigns and slogan T-shirts.

The line-up of Independence Day programmes that lead up to the song include bytes from Bollywood celebrities and common people about what they could change about India and so on.

"It will be wrong to say that it's a peppy track, it's a younger version made by artistes who represent young India. The essence of 'Jana Gana Mana' remains the same," Swamy clarifies.

Talking about the new rendition Salim said, “MTV approached us with this idea. I was really kicked about it. I felt it is fantastic to give something back to our own country. The channel chose us to represent young India. But you cannot really change the anthem. So we have done it in a contemporary manner only. It is very youthful with very little liberty to make it sound young. We have done it in term of instruments - guitar and piano in very minimal manner.”

Singing all the way to top : interviewed by Rohit Revo

India’s melody queen Shreya Ghoshal has sung several songs for Bollywood and other Indian film industries. Besides Hindi, she performs in Assamese, Bengali,Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, and Tamil songs. Ghoshal is one of the most awarded playback singers in recent times, with four National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards to her credit.

She is a great fan of Vani Jayaram. Shreya caught the attention of film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali when she participated in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa for a second time, this time as an adult. In 2000, he offered her the opportunity to be the voice of Paro, the lead female character of his film Devdas, who was portrayed by Aishwarya Rai. Shreya sang five songs under the musical direction of Ismail Darbar in the film. Her performance won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer, as well as Filmfare’s RD Burman Award for New Music Talent, given to upcoming talents in music. She also won a National Film Award for the song “Bairi Piya“.

Her songs “Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai” from Jism, “Mera Dholna” from Bhool Bhulaiyaa, “Teri Ore from Singh Is King”, “Yeh Ishq Haaye” from Jab We Met and “Barso Re” from Guru are all smashing hits you can’t ever forget.

Rohit Revo interviewed Shreya Ghoshal on the eve of her tour to Australia.

You are the only singer to get four national awards at the age of 26 in the Hindi film industry. How does it feel to achieve so much at such a young age?

Well, frankly I have never sung for awards.I am blessed that I have received so much love and respect from my audiences and jury all throughout. I would say, this is just my beginning, there is a lot to do. I am still evolving as an artist.

June 26th, 2010 has been declared as “SHREYA GHOSHAL DAY” in the state of Ohio in US in recognition of your musical contribution? What was your reaction when you heard this?

This is a big honor and completely unexpected. It was a surprise kept for me when I arrived at Ohio for my concert. The Governor’s wife presented me this honour.I was too overwhelmed!

From Devdas to Guru and peppy Latto in Ghajini ,you have had a great going. Where is Shreya Ghoshal heading in the future?

Hmmm! Absolutely no idea where I am headed. The only forces which drive me in life is a hunger for excellence and the need to do different things. So that will decide how my life shapes up in the future.

Do you think reality TV contests are the right mediu mto attract new music talent to the film industry?

Ans- This question has been asked to me just too many times. Let’s talk something more interesting.

Did you like your experience of being a judge in TV musical contest?

Was fun.Different kind of experience!

You have sung in many genres. Is there any particular type of song you love to sing?

Indian folk has always attracted me. I would like to experiment more in this genre. And Jazz, which is a very difficult music form, would like to learn it.

DNA INDIA ranked you as #41 in its list of INDIA’s TOP 50 POWER WOMEN. Your reactions please.

Wow. I feel awesome but to know that I am powerful is actually intimidating, because with power comes responsibility .So, I got to be very careful with every step I take in life, as everyone’s looking here

You had a very successful show in Sydney Opera House last time? What is the best part about performing in Sydney?

The last concert I had in Sydney was simply mind-blowing. One of the best I can say .The audience was simply awesome! And the venue was really prestigious. I love the Sydney spirit.Ekdam mast.Very lively responsive audience. Big music lovers. Can’t wait too see them again .

You sing so many songs. But what songs do you listen to when you are free?

Hmmm. Lots. From Indian classical to Jazz to old Hindi film to new ones to a little bit of rock.

What is your advice to young singers aspiring to make it big in the film industry?

Before u decide to take the plunge into taking up a career in this industry, you must learn music, make your art really perfect. And be unique, don’t blindly copy someone’s style.

You have such a pretty face and many of your fans want to see you acting as well. Do you have any plans of acting.

I can’t act.I am a drama queen only at home. If I ever do an album I will feature in the video (Laughs)

Can you give us a peep into what your fans can expect to see and hear in your upcoming concert in Sydney?

Come to the concert. I am sure I will be able to touch all music lover’s hearts somewhere There will be songs from all my films, and if requested may be some old Hindi songs, a few of my regional hits. Its all up to the audience’s mood .So be ready to make some noise! And make your requests heard

What message do you want to give to your fans in Australia?

Excitement is building up, can’t wait to see you guys. Australian fans know how to show their love for the artists and I want to give them that back too.

Thanks to Rohit revo who interviewed our melody queen, and i got this article from his site !!

Revelling in success !!

At the age of 4, she accompanied her mother on harmonium. A few years later , the shy kid floored Sanjay leela Bhanshali on popular television latent show with her mellifluous voice instantly becoming the choice to be the Paro's voice in Devdas. With four national awards for the best female playback singing already in her kitty , Shreya ghoshal has come a long way . From Bairi piya bada bedardi to hip shaking song Om shanti Om to sultry numbers in Jism, the bengali girl next door has the versatility that ranges from the raunchy to romance.

"After Devdas , people started branding me as someone who can croon only serious songs. But I begged to differ and went about doing seductive numbers such as Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai. I was the first choice for soft and slow tracks, but then with Yeh Ishq hai number from Jab We Met things are on the fast track,” says Shreya who was in town for the friendship concert, which was her first public performance in the city.

Despite a late night recording, Shreya didn't mind to give this interview. “The fun we have in recording studio is stuff of envy for non-singers. Seriously, we have a rocking time in the studios. This was my first public performance and it was great fun. I have earlier performed in the city for corporate events.”

Daughter of a scientist father who works in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Shreya does not have any musical lineage although her mother had love for music. In fact, her family is full of top-notch academicians. “I grew up in a non-musical family of doctors, scientists and engineers but fortunately my family allowed me to pursue my passion for music else I would have ended up researching in a laboratory,” giggles Shreya.

But with singing playing a major role in her life, Shreya's studies has completely taken a back seat.

“I was enrolled in the Science stream earlier when my singing kept me busy I shifted to arts. And that's how I had my first tryst with literature. I developed the habit of reading books and now I a big time fiction and non-fiction reader,” says Shreya

Recollecting the days when she started singing Shreya says, “I was 13 when I recorded my first music album. I never performed anywhere until I was 18. When people goaded me to perform on stage I would refuse because none of them were my songs. But at 18, I performed live. Music and reading books is perhaps in my genes. My mom studied literature and loved singing.”

Besides Hindi, she has sung in other regional languages including Telugu, Marathi, Punjabi, Assamese, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada and won acclaim in all these languages. Oriya, is the only language she is yet to open her innings in. When her fans compare her with the ‘Nightingale of India', Shreya is at once humbled. “It is their love that makes them compare me to Lataji. But I have a long way to go.” Shreya doesn't have the typical Bengali sweet tooth, but yearns to have her favourite fish curry with rice cooked by her mom. “I am a foodie who naturally loves Bengali food. I love cooking and when I am home I make myself busy in the kitchen whenever I get an opportunity.”

Dabangg - again 2 songs ! :)

Hey back to DABANGG, a new movie . This movie has two superb songs sung by our melody queen. Both are duets, one is "Chori kiya re jiya" and the other one is "tere mast mast do nain" . These songs are composed by "sajid - wajid". We expect lots from the film and much more from songs! :) so lets see :)

Lets start with the song "Chori kiya re jiya", its sung by SHREYA GHOSHAL and Sonu Nigam sir. I love this duet the most in this whole album. again a love song. Normal and simple start with music, and quick start with the lyrics. Sonu sir started first on 14th sec , songs continued and SHREYA DI got her chance on 26th sec. These lines were so pleasing, soft and great ! :) Touch of ease ! SHREYA DI touched some higher notes too , awesome. I love her singing! I love all romantic , love duets sung by our melody queen, we just get excellent feel and get to hear legendary singing ! Loved "chori kiya re jiye" --> this line the most, touched my heart! Lyrics is not pure hindi, a bit different :)

And the other song is "tere mast do nain" , sung by our melody queen and Rahat fateh ali khan. Here we experiencing the same pair of singers we got for last movie i.e "we are family" . This songs doesnt start with music , starts with male singer's voice directly. Its a sufi kind of song mixed with lil classical . Tabla beats has been used for special attraction. Rahat sir continues for long, after a short music piece our melody queen started on 3.41th min. After she started singing, melody of the song increased. superb singing, hats off ! :)

So this one is the first song of the movie "aankhon mein neendein" by SHREYA GHOSHAL and Rahat fateh ali khan! This is a romantic duet which reflects both sad and happy part of love !! Its based on the concept of love , one man loving two women. Beautiful concept ! The song starts with really superb music , continued further with awesome sargam . Loved the sargam with tune, was sounding really sweet and beautiful on 20th sec. First SHREYA DI started singing after that the same sargam got repeated by Rahat sir. Its was "Sa ni sa ni sa ga re..Sa ni sa ni sa ga re..sa ni sa ni sa ga ga ma ma re..re re re re re pa ma... re re re ma ga ma..re re re re dha ni sa " . On 44th sec our melody queen started with "aankhon mein neeindein" , great start!! :) very sweet song, mild music and forceful singing. Song was just swinging like a feather in the air, so soft !! All because of SHREYA DI !! :) Saragam also came in between . Perfect duet, full of emotions . Song too ended with that same sweet sargam .

The next song is "Hamesha and forever" , duet by Sonu sir and SHREYA GHOSHAL. This name says " always and forever" . Again a song full of emotions . Beautifully sung by both the singers. I always love duets by Sonu sir and SHREYA DI. The song starts with music on piano , i guess. Beautiful:). The male singer started singing on 37th sec. Its a slow song , flows really slow. The particular lyrics "Hamesha and forever" is sung by supporting singers. Our melody queen started with "Yaad mein itna rakhna" on 2.48th min. She got to sing very less in this track :( , so its a male oriented song!

Overall the tracks were really good. SHREYA DI was even more better !! We all know hard work always pays , so this album goona be a hit. Wish you all the best, good luck! Hats off to you.

And the song "sun le Dua ye aasmaan" is not sung by SHREYA GHOSHAL, you can find her name as the singer in different websites ! but its originally sung by Bela Shinde . At first i was also in doubt, but i used my high quality headphones and got clear that its not SHREYA DI ! Yes there is some resemblance .

SHREYA DI ROCKS!! :)

A R Rahman sir composed the tracks. Every thing is same except the lyrics. "Kaadal anukkal" was in tamil and this one is in telugu . Music is same. SHREYA DI's voice is sweet in both the tracks, its really difficult to sing in south Indian language self being a bong.

Hope you will enjoy this version too. :)

The track started with unique music , attractive and catchy. Guess mouthorgan also used in between which was superb . The male singer got his chance on 33rd sec. This song is related with science, you can just hear the lyrics "neutron electron" . Wah really very good composition, play the song and you can easily find out the difference ! Our melody queen started singing on 1.14th min , again so sweet. I close my eyes and feel her voice, ahh fabulous ! This is a rocking song with some science words used as lyrics. Theme of the songs is science . This combination of soft and hard music was appreciable. Sometimes the song moved fast and sometimes slow. On 4.19th min she rendered "neutron electron" . Lastly both the singers continued the song singing simultaneously, which produced a attractive melody. Song ended with female voice.

Target - SA NI PA NI NI(bangla)

Here comes a bengali track again by our melody queen for the movie "TARGET" composed by "jeet ganguly". Its a duet "sa ni pa ni ni" , with Shaan. Lets start discussing about the song.

The song started with sweet music , continuing upto 25 sec, on the 26th sec our melody queen started singing with "sa ni pa ni ni" with her god gifted sweet voice. You can just recognise SHREYA DI easily from her voice, its so sweet, suureela, soothing, its different from others, its god's unique gift to her. Her voice the reason for her super hit songs ! Bangla is very sweet language, our melody queen sounds so cute when she record songs in bengali! This one too awesome. All the efforts of composer, singers , lyricists is clearly visible. On 1.14th min the male singer "shaan" got his chance to sing, he was also superb, contributed equally to make it a success. Most part of the lyrics is sung my SHREYA DI, guess 60%.
